Carbon is the answer to the "Science and Nature" question I got right to beat my parents at Trivial Pursuit. (The question being what element needs to be in a compound for it to be considered organic.) They assumed science would trip me up, but don't they know that enough sci-fi has mentioned silicon-based life forms that there's no way I could miss that question? I like beating my parents at Trivial Pursuit, I must say.
I went home to see my parents for Thanksgiving. It was nice, if the same as it always is. My mom and I watched some season 4 Buffy ("Pangs" and its surrounding episodes) and I made her watch the first four episodes of Veronica Mars. I think she's hooked. Heh. I watched Lawrence of Arabia with my parents, too.
Thanksgiving night, fortunately after dinner, the power went out. *sigh* The power goes out at my parent's house all the time, but it usually blips. Nope, this time it stayed out. We played Trivial Pursuit by candlelight, and then went to bed, at like, nine. No power means no heat. I went to bed under 4 blankets. The power came back on in the middle of the night at some point, but it once again made me happy to be born in modern times.
Went shopping in downtown Annapolis, and was a good little capitalist. But some of the stores we shopped in burned down hours later so that's a little weird. And sad. Poor downtown Annapolis!
All in all, though, a pretty good weekend.
