imwaldeWell, god damn it to hell. I was crossing the street in strappy sandals last night and then an asshole on a bike zoomed right past me so I was a bit startled and tried to hustle out of his way but that went poorly, so I sort of semi-twisted my ankle. But that's not too bad, really, just a smidge sore. The bad part is that I, in the process of twisting said ankle, sort of stubbed my toe on the curb. And that just -- fffttt -- tore back my toenail on my big toe. Not the whole thing, but, like half.
Fuck fuck fuck. It's gross looking and will hurt if I put on not-sandal shoes and I have it all bandaged up.
(Before that, though, it was a fun night. I had AWESOME Rama Gai for dinner and then I saw "The Night Listener." Which was a good little movie, I guess. Robin Williams was, to paraphrase AO Scott, "blissfully understated." Toni Collette, however? So fucking creepy. It's suspenseful and stuff, but I'm not quite sure why the movie was made. It's a small little story and I'm just not quite sure why it was committed to film.)
Now I shall lounge about elevating my ankle, and wishing my toenail to grow back.
