CW, hits and misses
Jan. 30th, 2012 11:35 pmHart of Dixie is fucking delightful, no lie. I officially love this show, cheese and all. I think they are learning quickly what they are doing that works and what is slightly ridiculous. I just watched two episodes back to back, and I literally laughed out loud several times. Zoe doing a Lemon impression! Lemon airquoting "suck it!" Heheheh. I get psyched when it is time to watch it, even if I don't spend much brainpower thinking about it in between episodes. A thoroughly charming show.
Unlike, say, Ringer, which I have broken up with. This is a shocking development for me. This never happens! I've stuck with many shows that went off the rails toward horrible, let down finishes. And yet, it's like Ringer was never on the right rails to begin with. It should be a tawdry, enjoyable, ridiculous soap. Instead, it always felt like a chore to watch. It was so self serious, it wasn't fun. It was about mostly horrible, unlikeable people frequently doing bad things, probably to each other. I had 5 episodes on my DVR for weeks before I realized I just never was going to want to watch them. Do you know how much fan-goodwill-squandering it takes to make me stop watching a show that stars Buffy, Horatio Hornblower, and Logan Echolls??? I wouldn't have thought it possible. What a waste of a cast.
