It's been a YEAR since Haven season 2 ended, I am so excited about season 3 starting. That said, this episode felt a little off? It looked different (like different film or cameras or something?) and I felt a little disconnected. It just didn't quite match emotionally to the season 2 finale, even though nominally it follows immediately after, and it was a little jarring. It was also way creepier than usual. But story-wise, it sets up lots of interesting threads, with the Colorado Kid murder being important all of a sudden, and the continuing mystery of Roslyn and the kidnapper. (Part of me wondered if she was in on it, as another interrogation technique, to get past Audrey's defenses? But then I don't know what to make of the body in the fire pit.) And there was plenty of heightened emotions in the triangle/OT3, so there's always that. So not my fave, but yay for the show being back.

In other TV thoughts, Revolution was not the disaster I feared, it was actually pretty enjoyable. I am not 100% on board, but it has promise, and I'll give it a few more weeks to find its feet. The whole time watching the pilot, though, I was thinking, if there is no power, how does she plug in her curling iron? I mean, COME ON. Of all possible hair styles to try to pass off as being natural!

pssst, [livejournal.com profile] jheaton, have you seen this? Baby Armadillo the Size of a Tennis Ball -- That is so cute, I can't take it.
And speaking of so cute it hurts, Michael Vartan, I already loved you a lot, did you have to go and write a love letter to your dog? Christ. That is just inconsiderate, I could die from the squee.

Also immeasurably cute:

Things that made me laugh:

Panda! Panda, panda, panda! Baby panda!: “Listen,” they continue, warming to the subject, “Pandas are, from all evidence, idiots. In the continual Hunger Games of natural selection, their entire survival strategy consists of convincing humans that they are too cute to die. And what’s worse is, it’s working! Aren’t you ashamed?” Hehhehe.

McKayla Is Not Impressed by The Notebook. Of all of them, this is my fave, I giggle every time.

All 32 NFL Quarterbacks & Their Muppet Doppelgangers -- Many of these are inspired.

Things that made me tear up:

The passing of Jackson: An appaloosa gentle to those who needed him most

Libyans storm militia building after giant protest in wake of attack on US consulate: Hundreds of protesters stormed the compound of one of Libya’s strongest armed Islamic extremist groups Friday, evicting militiamen and setting fire to their building as the attack that killed the U.S. ambassador and three other Americans sparked a public backlash against armed groups that run rampant in the country and defy the country’s new, post-Moammar Gadhafi leadership. Very brave, good for them.

Things that make me feel super old:

Percy from Buffy the Vampire Slayer starring in a Rogaine commercial, holy crap. I looked for it on YouTube but didn't find it, but I've only just seen it on tv for the first time, so it may be too soon. Still: ouch.
