Haven 4x1 "Fallout"
Eeeeeeeeeee! That was pretty awesome. Duuuuuuuuuuuke, you are the best. Was it me, or was this ep much funnier than usual? "Oprah Winfrey." Ha! "You smell bad." Haha!
It makes a lot of sense (in so far as anything makes sense) that time passes differently in the barn. That somehow seems easier to accept than that Audrey is immortal or something. I think the actress who plays Jennifer's energy is going to take a little getting used to, but I like the idea of her character. I think it's a smart add.
Oh Nathan, and your beard of manpain. This must be the Haven equivalent of Bangs of Sadness. What an adorable hug with Duke. He does seem the type to get this sort of tunnel vision crazy with stopping the Troubles and convincing himself that sacrificing himself is the way to go. Not sure I buy Jordan. I believed she'd do anything in 3x13 to be rid of the Troubles when that still was a possibility, but cold-blooded murder just for revenge after the fact. Eh? Her characterization was a bit all over the place last year, I suppose this is just another zigzag.
I loved the musical echoes of the 3x13 goodbye scene when Duke and Nathan were all discussing who is really Audrey's OTL. Now that I think about it, that music also reminds me of the kiss in 2x12(?). *thinks hard* Right? Maybe it's the Nathan/Audrey theme and I just noticed?
I knew the Trouble was pilot lady because Nicole de Boer's name was in the credits. (Hi, Ezri Dax!) But I thought it was neat nonetheless, and I like how Nathan learned from Audrey how to talk her down. (Quibble: Couldn't Duke and Dwight have gone to get coats and then come back to help?)
I don't know how I feel about a conveniently never mentioned brother for Duke. An outsider ex-wife, I get how you hide her, but surely the town would have known about his brother, and I wonder why no one mentioned it until now. (Well, because the writers just made him up, but I wonder what is the town's reason.) I did love that they could barely disguise that the Grey Gull has like no parking. It's just a driveway plus gravel in front of the building, I can attest.
I don't know what to make of Lexi yet, but I suppose I am not supposed to. I have so many questions! Eeeeeee, yay for Haven being back!!
I don't know what Helix is, but based on that one preview, I am NEVER EVER watching. *turns on all the lights, clutches pillow, eyes vents suspiciously* At least there was that Sears commercial with the squirrels. I can't say for sure why the squirrel screaming "YOLO" and attacking that dude's face is so funny to me, but I laugh every time.
