HOLY CRAP, STEFAN!!! I did not see that coming. I thought Tyler might be a goner, but never a Salvatore! And the thing is, if they can bring him back, which they so clearly are, they can bring any Other Sider back! Lexie! Alaric! Aunt Jenna! Vicky! Grams! Basically, anyone besides Tyler's mom is in play! (Well, and not Tyler's Uncle Mason either, he's on a hit show.)

One thing I don't get, if the magic we've seen on the show so far has been negated in Mystic Falls, why are Jeremy or Matt ok? I know they are human, but they are humans who have been brought back to life via witchcraft and the Gilbert ring.

When Stefan and Elena were talking about Caroline, I really thought she'd notice that he has a thing for her. Maybe they want the Tyler thing resolved first? Dunno, but I'll be happy when they go there.

And MAN those extras were terrible at chanting or even pretending to chant the same thing. No need for such closeups on their faces, show, if they are going to be so crappy at it. The wide shot would have sufficed!

I've been wondering if they'll bring Alaric back. I'd love that tbh. He was a great character. Though from Matt Davis's twitter I genuinely wondered if he was having some kind of breakdown.

It was a shock to see Stefan die. Though slightly offset by the certainty that he'll be back. Poor Caroline, though. :'(

Yessss, I want Alaric back! And Enzo! So there can be jealousy in the epic (b)romances! Can you imagine Damon with two friends plus Elena? He's probably never been that happy in his whole life.

Yeah, Stefan will be back, but I'm prepared to believe we'll be surprise by the how or as what. Bonnie came back, but lost her witchy powers and became the anchor. Who knows what the strings/price of him coming back will be? Maybe as human, given that he died partly unvamped, courtesy of the spell, right?
