So, my friend Jennifer gave me what has to be the most horrifying present EVER.

Seriously, that is going to haunt my nightmares. It's a little hard to see, but the girl is blowing bubbles, and COMPLETELY INEXPLICABLY there is a clown reflected in all the bubbles that is waving back. (The back says it is a limited edition plate, #3139 out of 7500 made in 1982.) I know the little girl is supposed to be blowing bubbles, but doesn't that look like drug paraphernalia of some kind? Don't look too close, though! *shudder*

Here's my little cousin, Emil. (No 'e'! Not sure I like that.)

He's 6 days old in that picture. Not too alien-like or frog-like, but oddly disproportionate. He was 6 pounds something, so seems really small. His arms and legs are too long for his body. Aaand, that's pretty much all there is to report, because, you know, he's...a baby.

I received $75 in iTunes certificates for my birthday (multiple friends with the same idea). Any suggestions? I just bought "Policy of Truth" by Depeche Mode, and I've lately become obsessed with it, like, I listen on constant repeat. It's just perfect from beginning to end. "Never again is what you swore the time before..."

Incidentally, [livejournal.com profile] kidprufrock, you are so sweet! I finally picked up the package from my rental office, and now I have soap to make me smell like a rockstar. And clearly that is AWESOME.

And finally, in other news, I love the extras on the S2 Veronica Mars DVDs, but I hate the write up on the back. Who wrote that shit? Also, does Rob Thomas have a podcast commentary for any of the episodes?

Cute awesome wonderful baby. Scary, hideous, disturbing clown bubbles. (But funny. I keep laughing just thinking of your face when you opened it.)

No podcast commentary yet. He didn't promise, but he said he would probably do one again. (And I think he said probably for "Donut Run.")

Heh, well to be clear, she knew it was a horrifying present. But that doesn't mean I knew how the hell to react!

"Donut Run," huh? Hmmm. Well, it would be interesting to hear his take.

BABY!

Cleary, that girl was on drugs which is why she hallucinated clowns.

Heh, so maybe it really is a crackpipe? It would explain everything!

that clown thing . . . will give me nightmares for days. seriously. it's like those big-eyed keane paintings - why does it exist???

That's what I want to know! Like, was there a demand for creepy clown plates in the early 80s?

Ohmygoodness, that is the best commemorative plate evah!

Cuuuute cousin!

Heh, I guess my persistent question, is who thought the bubble clown stalking incident of 1982 was worth commemorating?!

I should stop obsessing. I can, like, feel brain cells dying.
