The good: It's time for Easter candy aka the best candy of the year!

The bad: I am very sad that I was not able to enter the Washington Post Peeps Diorama Contest this year. (Here were my 2007 entries.) The deadline was super early this year, entries had to be in by 1 Mar, and they only gave 2 weeks notice. I was busy those last two weeks of February, and more to the point, I hadn't seen Peeps in stores yet at that point! Boo. I do so love making dioramas, and it's a skill that is sadly underutilized in real life.

If I am honest, I didn't have clear picture in my mind of one I was dying to make. I cannot wait to see how contest people took blue peeps and did an Avatar riff, though. But it would have been fun to be creative, I don't do it much, and only very rarely a three dimensional kind of creativity, with glue and beads and construction paper. More's the pity. Next year, I guess!
