Oh fuck me.

Once they said Knut died in front of hundreds of zoo visitors, I knew it was only a matter of time before video surfaced. And sure enough, here it is. (Translation: the lady you hear is wondering what he is doing, then when he tumbles into the water she goes oh my god, and then you can hear the crowd shout for help.) I am no veterinarian, but it looks like some sort of aneurysm to me. *sniff* Macht's gut, kleiner Knut!

I have thoughts about Hunger Games casting. So I am sure Jennifer Lawrence will be great, but that's almost not the point. She doesn't look like a teenager, and it feels to me that the filmmakers are chickening out. They are adapting a book about children being forced to slaughter each other, and are casting adults. I just don't think it will have the same impact on screen; you'll be seeing adults playing teens killing adults cast as teens, and that is so not the same thing. I always did wonder how on earth this could be faithfully adapted for the screen and not be R, and now I think I know the answer: it's not possible. Still going to see it though.

Totally agree on Hunger Games casting. I tried to prepare myself for the inevitable Katniss miscasting, and yet, I'm still disappointed.

I am afraid that because of Katniss being cast with a 20-year-old, everyone's age is going to creep up. Gale and Peeta can also be 20s, and what, is Rue going to be 15 instead of 12? That may make it able to be PG-13, but it misses the point, I fear.
