I don't think I will ever get it
Sep. 25th, 2005 06:37 pmOk, I have been reading Les Trois Mousquetaires, and I just happened upon this creepy, timely, and sad quote:
"Il y aura en tout temps at dans tous les pays, surtout si ces pays sont divisés de religion, des fanatiques qui ne demanderont pas mieux que de se faire martyrs."
"In every time and in every land, especially if the land is divided by religion, there will be fanatics, who will ask for nothing more than to make themselves martyrs."
Duuuuuuude. I got a shiver. This book was written in the 1800s, and it's set in the 1600s. (Cardinal Richelieu says the line, in chapter 44, just fyi.)
That just makes me sad.
