First picture of the new addition
Apr. 22nd, 2012 03:29 pmThe name he came with is Tilt, because he holds his head at an angle. (This is the product of an inner ear infection left untreated, they think.) I need to get a sense of his personality before I rename him.
Moya is wary and not purring but also not totally freaking out. She hissed a little when she saw him in the carrier, but now he is sequestered in the guest room. She also hissed at me when I tried to pet her smelling like him, but she is still out and about and not hiding.
Part of what decided me on him beyond the adorable head tilt and that he sleeps on his back with his paws in the air was that he did not react at all when other cats hissed at him in the PetSmart. When they let him out of his cage so that I could meet him and he walked by the cages of other cats, some of them hissed and tried to swat through the bars. He just kept meandering and didn't take the bait, so I am hoping he won't react to Moya's provocations either, when they finally meet face to face. (And three separate rescue volunteers gushed about him.)
Updates to follow, surely.
ps -- oh, and happy birthday
