HOLY SHIT. My thoughts go a little something like this: Whaaaaaaaaaaaauuuughhhhh?!?!??!
OH MY HEART HE IS REALLY DEAD. Last week, I was all, whatevs, assuming the ring would bring him back and that the drama would come from him being all crazified like Alaric. But dead dead? HOLY SHIT. Nina Dobrev is so amazing, her breakdown made me cry actualfax tears. And THEN SHE BURNED THE HOUSE DOWN! THE TITULAR DIARIES WERE SET ON FIRE WITH NEARLY EVERYTHING SHE OWNED I NEED SOMETHING MORE EMPHATIC THAN CAPSLOCK! My jaw literally dropped when the fire started. I guess some part of my mind knew that there could be an exploration of turning it off, but once the cure came up, I never thought about it that hard again. I apologize show, I clearly got complacent and underestimated you.
And Matt! Being super awesome and making me tear up! I loved all the callbacks to Vicki. I bet we see Jeremy as a ghost sometime, we've seen Vicki, Anna, Alaric, and Grams, why not him? There was a quote from Steven McQueen at some point a season or two ago when he talked about how safe people were on the show, and he said in the books, I'm a kindergartener named Margaret, so I don't take anything for granted.
Bonnie, why so cray cray? Is Silas controlling you somehow? When Shane was just there in front of her house, I thought it might be Silas, but I was still secretly hoping the crack team of CW casting people would have a shot at adding hot another face to their roster. Are there even 12 people left in town for her to massacre at this point?
And was that the first scene just between Stefan and Meredith (with a cute new haircut)? Husband and wife on screen, very cute. And now I have to wait weeks for the next ep!

Date: 2013-02-22 10:03 am (UTC)Nina Dobrev was so amazing in that scene. And then, when she turned off her humanity and her face went blank, but it was still wet with tears, that was so good. All the awards.
Like you, I thought Jeremy would come back. Actually I thought the death was kind of cheap, because how could Jeremy die for real? And yet, here we are. Amazing follow up episode to a moment that really did lack punch because death is hardly final on this show.
I figured Shane was really Silas early on because... I don't know why, I guess it just occurred to me and seemed to fit. Poor old Rebekah left on the island alone, though, just to show us that moment with real!Shane. Bonnie really is gone off the deep end. How could she think bringing back all the dead supernatural creatures is a good idea? Crazy, Bonnie, srsly.
Are there even 12 people left in town for her to massacre at this point?
