The interior is squishy marshmallow, that is then covered in colored sugar. They are Easter candy, shaped like chicks and bunnies (and got popular enough to come out for other holidays, too, like ghosts for Halloween).

They are very squishy when they come out of the packaging. I, and many other people, like them best a little bit stale, so maybe a few days after the package has been opened. After some time passes though, they can become very hard indeed.
