Post-Sandy

RIP, tree. Another one bites the dust. Apparently I am destined to see directly into the townhouses behind my complex, because trees that used to block the view are getting downed one by one. At least it fell away from my apartment.

Hooray for having power back. *does happy dance* I had it all last night, when I went to bed, when I got up in the middle of the night at 5am, but it was off when I woke up this morning. But what was super weird was that it was only partially out? There were two outlets that worked. Fortunately, one was the fridge and microwave, and the other was the radio, so those D batteries were not necessary after all. But I have no idea why those outlets and none of the others or the overhead lights or whatever. Weird. But no tv or internet, and it was super boring, as it is so overcast, there wasn't great light to read by. So yaaaaaay that it is back.

Overall, where I live seems ok. Reports of downed trees and blocked roads today, but nothing too too bad. Poor NYC! You all got whammied. Good luck staying warm and dry.
